Joseph B. Bolen, IV
Chief Operating Officer
Joseph B. Bolen, IV has more than 10 years of healthcare experience in physician practice management and hospital administration. He has a Master of Science degree in health administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. As our Chief Operating Officer at the Alabama Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM), Joseph is responsible for the daily management of the administrative operations for Dr. Long and the medical professionals at ACRM. He has also led a 6-month effort in upgrading technology, processes, and protocols in the IVF lab for better patient outcomes. He has great strengths in finance and has a goal-oriented approach to the administration of ACRM for near-term results while positioning a company for continued growth and long-term success.
Bailey
Embryologist – Birmingham
Bailey has served as the Embryologist at ACRM since January 2021. Prior to joining ACRM, she completed her Master of Science degree in Animal Science at Virginia Polytechnic and State University in 2020 where she specialized in Reproductive Biology and Genomics. She also holds degrees from Auburn University (BS in Animal Science) and Wichita State University (BGS in Chemistry). Additionally, she received further training in Embryology at W.E.S.T in Carlsbad California. As a graduate student her research was centered on improving reproductive efficiency, with a direct focus on oocyte (egg) growth and early embryonic development. She has publications within multiple peer reviewed scientific journals, including Biology of Reproduction, Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology, and Scientific Reports. She has also had the opportunity to present her research at scientific conferences and as part of an initiative for communicating science. Since joining the ACRM team, she has been working within the Embryology lab performing IVF. Every day, she works diligently to ensure the best outcome for each patient that undergoes IVF procedures. When not in the lab, she and her husband, Cary, are usually at home covered in baby spit-up and pet hair as they take care of their two fur-babies, Hendrix and Kevin Butters; and are first-time parents to their daughter, Hope Eleanor, who was born in March 2022! When they are able to get out of the house it’s usually to eat Mexican food or shop at Target.
Gail “Beth” Hide
Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) – Birmingham
Gail “Beth” Hide, CRNP, started with the Alabama Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM) in April 2021. Beth holds both a Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has over 30 years experience in Reproductive Medicine and treating patients experiencing infertility in Alabama. She is also trained and certified as an Ultrasonographer with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. As an undergraduate student, she knew she wanted to be a nurse practitioner and has served in women’s health her entire career.
At ACRM, Beth works collaboratively with Dr. Long treating male and female infertility patients. She helps the practice with both new and return patients for the practice. Her fertility skills also include enrolling patients for IVF cycles, ultrasound scanning, Intrauterine Inseminations (IUI’s), medication management, interpreting lab results, plus many other fertility related functions the office provides. Beth considers it a privilege to assist couples in realizing their dreams of becoming parents. She also provides support in the not so happy times. In her spare time she enjoys physical activities such as walking, swimming, and gardening.
Jennifer Hicks
Financial Coordinator
Jennifer is has served as the Financial Coordinator at ACRM since April 2018. She has 16 years of experience in the fertility field. Before working in the fertility field, she experienced infertility firsthand. Now, she and her husband of 17 years and have 4 boys! Getting to help other couples achieve their family goals is what she has loved most about her job throughout her career. Outside of work, she enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband, collecting houseplants, fishing with her family, and watching her boys play baseball.
Hannah
Ultrasonographer – Birmingham
Hannah has served as the sonographer at ACRM in Birmingham since September 2019. She obtained her degree in the Applied Science of Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia, Alabama. After gaining experience at Princeton Baptist Medical Center for a year, she decided to devote her specialty to fertility and has been working at ACRM since. As a member of the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography with a specialty in Obstetrics and Gynecology Examination, she will complete your ultrasound with the utmost care and kindly tend to all patient sonography needs. Hannah is married and has two fur babies, Molly and Boomer.
Cecily Metzler
Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) – Birmingham
Cecily Metzler, CRNP has worked at ACRM as a Certified Register Nurse Practitioner since October 2021. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, as well as a Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Women’s Health. Prior to working at ACRM, Cecily worked as an RN in the Women’s Operating Room at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center for four years. Cecily is passionate about working in infertility, and she works collaboratively with Dr. Long by seeing new and return patients, managing medicated treatment cycles, performing intrauterine inseminations, and getting patients started with IVF as well as caring for them during their cycles. Outside of work, Cecily enjoys traveling with her husband, Andrew, gardening, and reading.
Tracey Mendelsohn
Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) – Montgomery
Tracey Mendelsohn, CRNP, started with the Alabama Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM) in April 2022. Tracey holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from Auburn University in Montgomery and a Masters of Science degree in Nursing from Troy University. Tracey has close to 20 Nurse Practitioner experience treating patients in Women’s Health. However, over the last 8 years, she has been in Reproductive Medicine treating patients for infertility. Tracey serves patients in our Montgomery office.
At ACRM, Tracey works collaboratively with Dr. Long treating male and female infertility patients. Tracey helps the practice with both new and return patients for the practice. Her fertility skills also include enrolling patients for IVF cycles, ultrasound scanning, Intrauterine Inseminations (IUI’s), medication management, interpreting lab results, plus many other fertility related functions the office provides.
Lynn
Office Manager – Montgomery
Lynn has served as the Office Manager at ACRM in Montgomery since April 2022. She has 22 years of experience serving patients with infertility. After graduating, she went to work at the hospital doing EKGs and Echos, then went to Public Health and facilitated the Medicaid program for the gift of life for paternity patients before eventually transitioning to a reproductive medicine practice in 2000 where she met Dr. Long. Lynn thoroughly enjoys her job and cannot imagine doing anything else. She has met the most wonderful people and feels like family to many of them. Working closely with individuals who are trying to achieve pregnancy has been a rewarding career for her.
Janeth
Receptionist – Birmingham
Janeth serves as a receptionist at ACRM in Birmingham. After graduating Jefferson State Community College, she worked as a medical receptionist for different clinics including OB/GYN, primary care, assisted living, and radiology. She began working at ACRM in November of 2021. She enjoys her job because of the positive atmosphere and the way her coworkers encourage her daily. Outside of work, she enjoys a good Netflix binge but can also be found fishing at the lake with her son and husband on a hot sunny day!
Nicole
Receptionist – Birmingham
Nicole has served as a receptionist at ACRM in Birmingham since May 2022. Prior to joining the team at ACRM she was a stay-at-home mom for 8 years while homeschooling her children. Since joining ACRM, she has enjoyed becoming part of a work family while also helping families with their infertility needs. She has four kids with her husband of 18 years. She enjoys being outdoors, playing video games, and dumpster diving for hidden treasures.
Cassidy Quimby
Physician Assistant (PA-C) – Birmingham
Cassidy Quimby, PA-C, started with the Alabama Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM) in March of 2020. She obtained her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her graduate courses, Cassidy had the opportunity to work with many hospitals and departments including the Department of OB/GYN at UAB Hospital. Cassidy was also part of the Lambda Nu and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Societies while in school. Prior to her completing her master’s degree, Cassidy spent many years in healthcare as a Radiology technician.
At ACRM, Cassidy works closely with Dr. Long treating male and female infertility patients. Cassidy’s skills also require her to help Dr. Long with surgical cases in Hospital operating rooms. Cassidy’s fertility skills also include ultrasound scanning, Intrauterine Inseminations (IUI’s), medication management, interpreting lab results, plus many other fertility related functions the office provides. In Cassidy’s spare time she enjoys reading, painting with watercolors, spending time with family, running, and outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking.
Kaleigh
IVF Medical Assistant – Birmingham
Kaleigh has served as the IVF Medical Assistant at ACRM in Birmingham since June 2021. She was born and raised just North of Birmingham, AL. She graduated from Jeremiah’s Hope Academy 6 years ago with a certification in Phlebotomy, EKG, and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. Kaleigh is married and a mom of two girls, Ryleigh and Cambrie. Her favorite part about working at ACRM is the close relationships she is able to develop with patients.

Debbie
Endocrine Lab Supervisor – Birmingham
Debbie has served as the Endocrine Laboratory Manager at ACRM since August 2021. She graduated from Gadsden State Community College and Jacksonville State University. She has worked in the Laboratory since 1985 with the last 10 years being in Fertility. Debbie enjoys working at ACRM and getting to know our patients. It is a pleasure for her to follow them through their journey and celebrate with them when they bring their babies back to visit. She understands their frustrations as she and her husband experienced their own infertility journey but were finally blessed with a son and daughter. In her spare time, Debbie enjoys reading, working in her yard and spending time with her family.
Courtney
Infertility Medical Assistant/ Surgery Scheduler – Birmingham
Courtney has served as the Infertility Medical Assistant and Surgery Scheduler at ACRM since February 2022. She has 3 years of experience working as a medical assistant. Although she is relatively new to the fertility specialty, she has thoroughly enjoyed her time working at ACRM. As a mother of two girls, Courtney finds it very rewarding and fulfilling to be part of a great clinic with great providers who are able to help women and their spouses receive one of the most precious gifts there is.
Janice
Andrology Lab Technician – Birmingham
Janice has served as the Andrologist at ACRM in Birmingham since February 2022. She has 20 years of laboratory experience. She has always enjoyed working in the lab and has a special interest in the field of andrology. Janice and her family love to do home projects, cook, and take pictures of their pets.
Brandi
Ultrasonographer – Montgomery
Brandi has served as the Ultrasonographer at ACRM in Montgomery since May 2022. She graduated from diagnostic medical sonography school in 2011 and has been working in Reproductive medicine for 10 years. This field is truly near and dear to her heart. She loves building relationships with our patients and being a part of their journey. Brandi spends her free time with her husband and their two daughters. They love vacationing, the lake, and trail riding. She is excited to be a part of this team and to help take care of you!
Belinda
Registered Nurse – Montgomery
Belinda has served as a Registered Nurse at ACRM in Montgomery since May 2022. She graduated from Auburn University in Montgomery with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has worked in women’s healthcare for over 20 years with the last year and a half in reproductive medicine. She is so excited to be a part of the ACRM team and to help patients through their journey.
