Signs Fertility Testing May Be Right For You

Let’s have the difficult conversations, together.

No one expects to face fertility challenges, but recognizing when it’s time to check in with your body is an act of self-awareness. Whether you’ve been trying to conceive for a while or just feel that something’s off, fertility testing can provide real answers and a clearer path forward.

Female infertility can result from a range of physical, hormonal, or health-related factors that impact ovulation and egg count. Here are a few signs that testing might be the right move:

  • You’ve been trying to conceive without success
  • You have irregular, absent, or very painful periods
  • You’ve had multiple miscarriages
  • You’ve been diagnosed with PCOS or endometriosis
  • You have a history of pelvic infections or surgery
  • You want a proactive look at your fertility health

Types of Female Fertility Testing We Offer

What to expect, and why it matters.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to fertility testing for women. That’s why we offer a range of tests designed to uncover what’s happening beneath the surface. Each fertility test plays a key role in understanding your reproductive health and giving you the clarity you deserve as you move forward.

1

Ovulation Testing

Many women begin with an at-home ovulation predictor kit, which detects a rise in luteinizing hormone (LH) before the egg is released. In the clinic, we can also run blood tests to get a closer look at hormone levels and confirm whether ovulation is occurring regularly.

2

Ovarian Reserve Testing

Ovarian reserve testing helps us understand both the quantity and quality of eggs available. This involves timed blood work during your menstrual cycle to measure hormone levels, along with an antral follicle count—an ultrasound that gives of a visual of how many small, immature follicles are present in the ovaries.

3

Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)

This outpatient X-ray test gives us insight into the shape of the uterus and the condition of the fallopian tubes. Using a dye that flows through the reproductive tract, we can see if the tubes are open and whether there are any blockages or structural concerns that may be affecting fertility.

4

Transvaginal Ultrasound

With an in-office ultrasound, we can get a clear image of the uterus and ovaries. This allows us to check for fibroids, cysts, or other abnormalities that may not be obvious from the outside but could be impacting your cycle.

5

In-Office Hysteroscopy

In-office hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure where a thin, telescope-like instrument called a hysteroscopy is used to examine the inside of the uterus. This allows us to see if there are any abnormalities in your uterus such as polyps, fibroids, or scarring that might hinder implantation or pregnancy.

Have Questions About Female Fertility Testing? Let’s Talk.

It all starts with a conversation. Before we run any tests, we take the time to understand your cycle history, any symptoms you’ve noticed, how long you’ve been trying to conceive, and what your goals look like. From there, we’re able to build a testing plan that makes sense for you. Everything we do is designed to help uncover the why, so we can move toward the how.

Hormones are the quiet power players of your reproductive system. Estrogen, progesterone, FSH, LH, AMH—these might sound like alphabet soup, but they each play a critical part in ovulation, egg development, and overall cycle health.

When your hormones are off, it can create roadblocks to getting pregnant, even if everything else is operating smoothly. That’s why bloodwork is often one of the first steps in fertility testing. It gives us a behind-the-scenes look at how well your body’s signals are working together.

Hope Starts With Female Fertility Testing & Honest Conversations

You don’t have to figure this out on your own.
